Contact Adhesive for Rubber is a 40ml tube of glue suitable for use with many of our rubber products. We have tested it on a number of different substraints such as bare wood edges, metal and plastic and it has an excellent adhesion.

Description

• Supplied in a 40ml tube – ideal for when you only need a small amount
• Ideal glue for bonding rubber parts to many common materials
• Also good for bonding chipboard, cork, fabrics, fibreboard, hardboard, leather, plasterboard, rigid PVC plastics, stone and wood.
• Dries to a semi-clear yellowish colour
• Non-stringing
• Permanent bond
• Once touch dry, any excess mess can be ‘rubbed’ to remove from the surface.

Do not use on polystyrene, vinyl, cellulose paints or mirror tiles. Do not apply when materials are wet.

Directions for application

1. Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from contamination.
2. For porous surfaces a primer coat of Thixofix is recommended. Spread evenly over both surfaces holding the spreader upright. For best results coat one surface from side to side and the other from top to bottom.
3. Wait until touch dry (normally 10-15 minutes) but making sure the surfaces are brought together within 25 minutes of coating.
4. Bring the materials together very gently, small sized sheeted materials are adjustable until pressure is applied.
5. Press down evenly and firmly. Work from the centre outwards to exclude air pockets.
